Scott Bender's writing is better than drinking Blatz!
I love a parade

The pictures are breathtakingThe quality of the book is superb. The pages are heavy glossy paper and the paperback binding holds up after major 1,000+ mile car journeys I've made with the book thrown in the backseat. If you buy one guidebook about hiking in Colorado, make it this one. I highly recommend it for the description of each trail and the stupendous photographs.
Colorado Hiking Guide Hits New HeightsThe verbal content is excellent in its own right. The 100 hikes cover the entire state from the prairie in the east to Colorado National Monument in the west. Distance and difficulty range from a 1 mile nature stroll to 31.5 miles along the steep, rugged Continental Divide. The trail descriptions are not long, but words are used wisely and you will know about the area's history and what can be found on the hike when you are through reading. The hikes described in this book really live up to the "classic" in the book's title, as each one visits a special area, usually for scenery or geology, but sometimes for history. There are some very difficult hikes in Colorado (consider the mountains and elevation), but the author gives precise information (example: trail gains 1000 feet in the next 0.75 mile) that should allow you to steer clear of hikes beyond your ability. I recently visited Colorado and took a couple of the hikes described in this book. When I got done, I wished I had time to hike more of them.
As you can probably tell by now, I really enjoyed this guide. The book could be recommended for the pictures alone, but the hiking contents lives up to the title "100 classic hikes." Hikers planning to visit Colorado will find this guide a joy, but others might find it of interest as well. Enthusiastically recommended.

One of the best true crime books you will ever read

Great Book

History of the Summers Family Tree
An X-cellent work! Clears away lots of gray areas.

My work on this book!My name is Scott Neely and I liked the spot illustrations that I drew for this book. It has an X-Files feel to it and is a great supplement to the role-playing game. Enjoy!

Not the only African Wild Dog book
This is THE book on wild dogs.

Hurry up with the sequel!A small town story of rebellious youth... A race to unite the forces of good against evil. And a tale of friendship and rock and roll, first love and warfare. All told with a fresh voice that somehow sounds like an old school pal reminding you of your past shenanigans.
The sequel can't come soon enough for me.
Great characters and excellent story = 1 great book...If you like fast-paced adventure, this book will meet your needs. The characters are well developed and easy to relate to and they will have you cheering for them in their trials and travels. It has all the trademarks of a fine Clancy novel, but, with better character development and less of the techno mumbo-jumbo.
This book will appeal to all but the youngest of readers (I would recommend it from 13 years or so on up... mostly because of some strong language). I couldn't find any previous listings, but, I look forward to any future offerings by this author. I whole-heartedly and confidently recommend this book.

A Must-Have Book For Students And Teachers Alike
Best Action Photos Ever!

Paragon of Scott O'Dell Books
Great Book
literature I'd seen since a young J.D. Salinger burst onto the scene in the early 1950's. I particularly enjoyed the subtle
love story of the minor characters "ChopDog" and his "ol' lady
Stace." Whereas Ryan O'Neal & Ali McGraw popularized the saying "Love means never having to say you're sorry," the cantakerous "ChopDog" has expanded this amorous concept to include that it also means you should immediately lock yourself
up in the nearest convenience store cooler and began drinking cheap malt liquor. Sheer genius! I cannot wait for Bender's next work (hopefully an Upton Sinclair-like expose of the seedy
underbelly of jug band touring).
